I can barely sit still let alone wipe the grin off my face, which is currently plastered on from ear to ear!! One of the Managers that interviewed me came to see me today to let me know that even though the Manager of our Branch is on holidays they’ve made a decision, and he was given permission to come and let me know that I was the successful applicant. I was telling my Mummy how he said they thought that I was far more suited to the role and would really thrive in it, to which my Mummy replied “Well I could have told them you were the best person for the job, all they had to do was phone me!!” I cracked up laughing and said “Oh, I can just imagine it… “As for my references, please phone my Mummy!!” She said she was so excited for me and very, very proud!! Now all I have to do is wait for next week to see if they are going to make me an offer I can’t refuse… LOL!! What an awesome start to the New Year!!
As for other news all I can say is “Aaaaah!! Blessed airconditioning, how I love you!!” As of 6pm last night the voluntary power restrictions were lifted so by suffering all through the day it meant that nobody had to endure power blackouts. So I was able to put the aircon in my room on to chill it a bit before turning it off and leaving just the fan on when I went to bed, which made for a very comfortable, very deep and dreamless sleep. I never woke once during the night, not even when Jesse and a couple of her friends came back from the beach later in the night. Normally I hear them loud and clear, but not last night. It really was that deep a sleep and I literally bounded out of bed all refreshed this morning, which made for an excellent training session at the gym!!
Then I arrived at work to be greeted with “You’re not allowed to complain about the airconditioning being too freezing today, Rae!!” Normally when the airconditioning is running, by about 1pm in our office it is like working in a meat freezer and I have to keep a jumper on hand to put on as my hands and fingers turn blue. To me it is ridiculous to have the airconiditoning that cold. But my colleagues need not fear… there will be no complaints today!! Next week might be a different story though when the memory of how uncomfortable we were yesterday without airconditioning wears off… LOL!! I really appreciate it being cold enough in the office to have a hot drink as I just couldn’t handle increasing my body temperature yesterday with a coffee, no matter how much I was wanting one!!
It’s going to be a pretty quiet weekend this weekend, which will be welcomed after the social madness of the past month or so. I’m down to just a few frozen meals in the freezer, so I will be spending some part of the weekend preparing meals and restocking the freezer for the weeks ahead, perhaps some time at the beach, and then lunch on Sunday at a friend’s place… two ladies I used to work with quite a few years ago that I still keep in touch with. I am in charge of dessert and I have been hankering for a nice refreshing fruit salad with honeyed greek yogurt during these past few hot days. I know from past experience that these ladies love my fruit salads, so I know it will be a hit!! Far from being the “Oh God, Rae is bringing the healthy stuff again,” these ladies really appreciate that I always supply a healthy dish. In the words of one at the last lunch I hosted, “Rae always makes THE best salads!!”
Anyway guys, must dash… have an awesome weekend!! Train hard and eat well.
