So my younger sister and I went off to see a lawyer. I was dreading it with all the horror stories I had heard of lawyers. But… as sometimes happens when you have low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least!! He was very knowledgeable, not controlled by his ego and therefore didn’t make promises or make out like he knew the answer if he didn’t, and a very approachable and agreeable person all up. If I had met him outside of the law firm I would have never guessed he was a lawyer!! My little sister and I walked out of there feeling like we had someone on our side and were very reassured that the way we were leaning is the right thing to do. We have to investigate a few tax issues, etc. but will be responding to the demands soon. I don’t think they will be well received, but we will be sticking to our guns and doing what mum wanted.
So good news, but I wasn’t looking forward to the phone call coming from my older sister, whom I haven’t spoken in person to since March. So I chickened out and sent an email instead. If you knew what my sister was like you would have too… LOL!! When she gets talking and trying to convince you, she can go on for hours, and believe me I have literally been on the phone with her at times for 2 hours as she goes on and on and covers the same ground over and over again!! But the worst tactic of all that she employs is emotional blackmail by using her children against me and accusing me of not loving them because I am not giving into her demands. But enough said on that subject!!
In other news, I was chatting to Lia the other day about vlogs and was telling her I had been toying with the idea for a few weeks of getting myself an Internet video camera. Well I have finally purchased one and it should be landing on my desk soon. I have decided to join the vlog revolution taking place on the internet. Well, maybe. Depends on whether or not I like hearing myself on video… LOL!! Not to mention how comfortable I feel talking at a camera all by my little lonesome. I seem to do OK when people ask me questions, but I am not sure about how I will go just dribbling on my own!! Yes I know, it’s taken me a while to catch up with everyone else… but I’m working on it!!
Anyway guys, I must dash as it’s time for me to head out for cardio. Have a wonderful day… train hard and eat well!!

I’m really glad you are talking about your issues, because I don’t like the thought that you might have felt constrained to say anythign at all, by other peoples actions.
This also shows that they are not winning and not controlling how you behave in this situation, in ways they would like or prefer.
So I do feel proud of you, for taking your own personal stand and being strong over this and it’s another reason whay you are such a good rolemodel and a strong iconic lady, who does represent the best things about the modern female.
I’m sending you a BIG HUG and lots of WARM WISHES. Don’t let anyone or anything get you down. You are better and worth more than that.

Go the Vlog Rae! I hate the way I sound but everyone else seemed to like it..although it’s not actually how I sound (as you would know) as I was talking quietly so I wouldn’t wake up the kids LOL!
Glad the legal stuff seems to be getting sorted. I hate it when people use emotional blackmail…lowest of the low really when it involves kids too.

I’m glad to hear that things are starting to sort themselves out, god only knows you could do with a break from it all. Me on the other hand, I’m only just starting so like you am quite apprehensive about it all. No doubt that’s how you were?
So are you going to use a youtube account or can you upload directly onto your blog? Me I have no idea what I’m doing really, so who know’s how it’ll turn out. LOL!! I’d like to be able to upload directly but don’t know if that’s even possible do you Rae? It’ll be funny though. LOL!!

I uploaded mine directly to blog Lia but if I do anymore I will probably upload to you tube and embed them in my blog so I don’t use up all my blog space. having your own youtube channel linking to your blog is a great idea ‘cos you can pull in more readers. I have ‘fifidangerfieldtv’ set up now for a while but haven’t posted any vids.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy them Raechelle. I think it’s a great idea for people to get to know bloggers better as by watching on video you can pick up their mannerisms, etc. Kind of can’t wait to get my camera now!!
Thanks Matt. I always used to keep my feelings in when it came to my older sister as deep down I knew that her and her husband would use the love I have for their children against me and to keep me in line. Alas they have proven me right, but this is too important to let that happen. As much as it devastates me to possibly never see my nieces again, I can only hope the memories I have made from my visits with them will stay with them and they will come looking for me when they are older. This wish is what is keeping me strong and steadfast in my stand against their emotional bullying and veiled threats.
I loved the way you sounded Frankie and it’s not unlike how you sound in real life, just a little softer And you are right, it’s a pretty low act. But then my brother-in-law always uses the kids against my sister whenever they argue (in front of the kids no less) so she’s learned emotional blackmail from the best in the business!!
I was very apprehensive Lia. But there comes a time when you can not put it off any longer and you have to take a deep breath and just dive right in, leaning on your friends for support the whole way. Any time you are sitting in front of your computer and are feeling suffocated under your emotions and the sense of responsibility you are to email me. Get it all out in an email to me, just like I did to you and Lindy yesterday. No, we may not be able to make it all go away for you, but let us just be someone you can let it all out to.
