So over the past few days I have been elated over the good news from the lawyers, but I really pulled myself up yesterday. I had been speaking to a colleague and had said something along the lines of “so she can bring it if she wants to!!” with regards to my older sister and her demands. As I walked away it hit me what I was talking about and I had to remind myself what I was carrying on about. This is my older sister I am talking about. My mum’s eldest daughter. I am not sure I will ever speak to her again, so all the wonderful memories of a childhood we shared are marred. We are fighting over my younger sister and I wanting to respect what mum wanted in her will and my older sister wanting to do otherwise. We are in a situation where children are being used as pawns to emotionally hurt and blackmail the people who love them. So as comforted as I am about the lawyer on my side, my elation has been deflated. I’ve lost my mum and I am pretty sure my older sister along with it. That’s not fighting a good fight, that’s just plain sad. Nobody wins something like this, especially not the children involved. I have another meeting between my lawyer, the executor and his lawyer today. This is getting outta control!!

It’s strange though, although this is happening around me, I feel at peace. I think it is because I know I am doing the right thing and my integrity is still intact. Or maybe that feeling has a lot to do with the soul-searching and this inner personal journey I have been on lately. All I know is that I am at peace and happy with my life and the people in it, despite all the litigation going on around me.

Eco Tanka

But enough of that… today I want to recommend a water bottle that I use constantly. I think I have about 4 of them now!! They are called Eco Tanka’s and you can get them from Shar at Pure Energy Fitness. Or at least you should get them from there if you want great service and quick delivery!! They are stainless steel, so very funky looking. Being stainless steel, they are very hygienic as there’s no pores or cracks for the grime and bacteria to fester in, it’s also very easy to clean. Completely non-toxic!! They also have a nice wide neck, which makes it easy for me to get my Next Generation Reload BCAA’s into (did you like that shameless plug???). Just this week I also purchased two insulating covers for them and they rock! They prevent the condensation from the bottles from pooling around the bottle, they come in funky colours (I am especially partial to my camo one), they have a strap on the side you can slip your hand under while walking to make it easier to hold, or you can hook a longer strap on the covers and slink it over your shoulder. I thoroughly recommend these bottles.

So the vloggging is taking the blogging world by storm. I’m still waiting for my camera, but just read that Ms Lia is all set up and ready to do one on the weekend. Can’t wait to see it!!

Baby Charu

For those not on Facebook, I have an exciting gift for myself at Christmas time… a little fur baby!! Her name is Charu. which means “beautiful” in Bengali and I think it suits her perfectly. She is a Bengal cat and I cannot wait to meet her. She will be flying in from Melbourne in about a month’s time. I’ve just got some updated pictures from the breeder and she said that Charu is a gem, she’s very playful and is getting quite the personality.

For those who don’t know about Bengal cats (like I did at first), their breed came from breeding wild Asian Leopard Cats with domestic ones. Their coats are referred to as pelts, and are sleek, glossy and as smooth as satin. Unique to the Bengal cat, their coat has the appearance of gold dusted glitter covering it. They are quite often referred to as “dogs in cats bodies” as they love playing fetch and are easily trained to walk on a leash. They are fascinated with water, and will quite often get into the shower with you, as they seem to hold no fear from it and it is quite usual for a Bengal to paddle around in their water bowl to clear the top of the water before drinking it, just as the Asian Leopard cat does in the wild. The makeup of the Bengals personality has much to do with their wild ancestry, which has ingrained in them a highly intelligent, alert and mischievous nature. They make lots of noises ranging from a meow to a chirrup, they coo, yowl or can make an urgent and alarming guttural sound if they are alarmed. They are so active and intelligent that they need communication and mental stimulation with other creatures, preferably feline or canine as well as human. So after reading up on Bengal’s and what amazing little creatures they are, how could I not get one???

My flatmate has fallen in love with the breed too and she is getting a little boy. We won’t be breeding them as only registered breeders can. If you purchase them as pets as we did, they come to you sterilised, microchipped and already toilet trained. It’s just that it takes sooooooooo long for them to get to you… LOL!! I have a feeling we will be on our toes constantly around them as apparently they are intelligent enough to study the actions of their people and learn how to open cabinets, doors and even windows. Hopefully for my readers my blog won’t turn into a boring one where all I do is gush about my cat and what it is doing at that particular point in time… hehehe!!

This weekend will be a busy one, I am off to catch up with Mrs Nazaroff first thing in the morning, then off to get my hair sorted out, then a nice drive out into the countryside to have a sleepover with my nephew and niece. We are then off to the Ashton Circus the next day. I cannot remember the last time I went to the circus!! I think it was in Karratha one year when I was on holidays staying with my older sister and her family. Next weekend I am babysitting while my sis and her hubby go off to a concert, and to say my little nephew is excited about having a sleepover at my place is an understatement. He is so fired up and cannot wait… neither can I or my flatmate. It’s going to be so cool having some kids in the house!! We’re already making plans on taking them to the park, etc. so here’s hoping it’s the weather for it.

Anyway guys, on that note I must be off… lots to do and organise!! Have an awesome weekend… train hard and eat well!!

Love Rae xxx

You always handle everything with grace and elegance lovely. But I do know how you feel about the drama with your sister.

I didn’t talk to mine for 7 years. But finally, finally, two years ago we worked it all out and are very close again.

As long as you are following your mum’s wishes then you are in the right and your not allowing yourself to be buillied.

Keep smiling beautiful

Lots of love

I am sending you a really BIG HUG, because I know this is so hard for you, but I also know you ARE doing the right thing.

As I’ve said before a big Heart is NOT a doormat for people to walk on and the way you are dealing with things looks absolutely right and absolutely how you have to do it.

So you keep your chin up, you walk tall and be strong. I am very proud of you and my fullest support with anything you do, will always be with you anytime you need it.

:-) :-) .

Yes-it’s sad to see families fight over issues after a loved one has gone. Can bring out the worst and the best (in yourself) in people.

the kitten is TOTES ADORBS!!!

Hope all the legal matters get sorted out soon Rae, why is it that these kind of things bring out the worst in people??

I LOVE your fur baby! The reason I got my Siamese was because I wanted a cat that would interact, play fetch, walk on a lead etc – they are so much fun and so loving, giving you so much more than you can ever give them. Mine knows how to open doors and cupboards too LOL! I look forward to hearing all about Charu when she arrives!

Thank you sweetheart. We have two offers in on mum’s property, so I can see light at the end of the tunnel in all this mess. My concerns were well founded, I did lose my older sister over this. The blessing in it all is that my little sister and I have gotten so close and I am so proud and honoured to say that she is one of my best friends. Even if we weren’t related, my little sister is the kind of person I would choose for a best friend, and that is such a lovely feeling to have :) Lots of love to you sweetheart xxx
