It has definitely not been a case of busy at work so the week has flown by. This week as draaaaaaaaaaaaaaagged even though I have been so busy. I think they have dragged because I have been anticipating the end of the work day to get some relief from the stress of it all. As I’ve said before, I’ve been really lucky up until now that the roles I have had have in the lead-up to comp have been pretty cruisy. Not so this one. It is challenging to say the least and in no small part to being something completely different than what I am used to. I’ve always said I’m up for a challenge and the saying “be careful what you wish for,” is most certainly true in this case!

I was up bright and early this morning to do some routine and posing practise with coach. He seems pretty happy with how I am coming along. Only EIGHT more days to work my little tushie off before I hit the stage. As with every time this last week of comp prep rolls around, it’s almost a feeling of disbelief that it is just about D-Day.

Not too much left to organise now. Just need to pack the “can’t do without” items into a backpack to take on the plane, and sort out what I need to take for the rest of the time to go in the suitcase. By “can’t do without items,” I mean the items I definitely need for comp day that I cannot do without. Normally into this bag goes my bikini and a spare one, heels and dream tan. Pretty much anything that I would be lost without on comp day, that cannot be easily replaced if my luggage goes missing. On the plane I also wear what I plan to wear to the comp, normally a black pair of pants and my team jacket. As long as I have everything I need for comp day either in hand luggage or on me, I know I will be pretty right. Things like makeup (if you’re getting someone to do it), hair styling products, etc. can be purchased if they go missing in transit, your bikini cannot. This is one of the things my coach first taught me as some of his competitors have been through the experience of packing everything in their luggage and it going missing.

I’m missing my sis, BIL and the little ones like crazy. It will be three weeks this weekend since I last saw them and I am definitely feeling it. I am not also counting down to comp, but also counting down until the Thursday after when I see them all again for little Scrumptious Bum’s birthday. I would love to head out to their place to see them this weekend, but I have to be smart about what I do the weekend before comp. I’ve got posing and routine practise with coach tomorrow, followed by a massage. The rest of the time will be spent training, tidying up my room, resting and making sure everything is all ready to go as I will still be working on Monday and Tuesday, giving myself Wednesday off to organise last minute things before flying out on the red-eye Wednesday night and landing in Melbourne bright and early on Thursday morning. One thing I cannot stand is coming home to a messy room… LOL!!

I am not sure how much time I will get over the next 5-7 days to post, but I promise like last time that I will be uploading a lot of pics, etc. to Facebook so that everyone can keep up with the adventure. Miss Tank and I will make sure we post pics of our shopping expeditions, etc. I will definitely be taking my MacBook… won’t be leaving that baby behind!!

So take care everyone, train hard and eat well and hang on for the ride that is the week of a bodybuilding comp… LOL!!

There’s a way…

When it’s something you truly wish to do, there’s a way to get it done. There’s a way to cut through all the objections, obstacles and excuses, and to make it happen. If you don’t know how, then you can learn. If you can’t find anyone to teach you, then you can figure out your own approach.

If you don’t have time, examine and update your priorities. Remember why it’s important to you, and keep remembering as you continue taking effective action.

If it seems way too overwhelming, start with just a tiny first step. If you’re not progressing fast enough, use a little bit of innovation to leverage your efforts.

Achievement is one of life’s greatest adventures. You owe it to yourself to enjoy as much of it as you possibly can.

Set yourself a meaningful goal and add some great new value to your world. Make the commitment to start right now, and you’ll quickly find that there’s a way.
